Gravitas Special edition from Kyuseido - Machine finish blue Kakari FS
This pen is the combined efforts of both Ben, the owner of Gravitas and Cy the owner of the newly established Kyuseido pen company based in Japan. The pen is called the Kakari and has an integrated filling system that we call the Pump Piston Filler. After the first few rounds of designs and prototypes, the system slowly began to take shape, Cy wanted it to be intuitive and that's exactly what we delivered.
Each Gravitas edition of the Kakari is fitted with a 14k yellow gold nib and an ebonite feed, featuring the Gravitas logo The iridium tipping is premium and hard AM tipping that is formulated to last a lifetime. The attention to detail on this pen is second to none, the materials used were of the highest quality. Optical grade cast acrylic was used for both its stunning clarity and its ability to be beautifully polished. The internals are made from 303 stainless steel which is able to resist the most acidic inks and still be easily machined for the accuracy needed in this design. The externals are made from Ti-6Al-4V and finished to a high Ra finish straight off the swiss lathe. The internals of both the caps are lined with Delrin® acetal homopolymer for a smooth and consistent capping. Each version of both the matt and machine finish will have a limited run of 50 which will come with the edition number engraved on the cap and then after the first 50 are sold, the rest won’t be numbered editions. This is a limited edition run exclusive to Gravitas pens only.
